It's less "the tank has finally rusted through" and more a builder-grade unit reaching the end of its cheapest components, a warranty question after a move-in inspection, or a system that was never quite sized right for the household using it.

Coomera's housing stock is overwhelmingly new - most of it built in the last five to fifteen years as the suburb grew into one of the busiest corridors on the northern Gold Coast around the train station and business precinct. New-build hot water systems are usually the standard spec the builder included, sized to a minimum rather than to how the household actually uses hot water. That's fine for the first year or two, but it's often the reason we get called when a family has grown into the house and the system hasn't kept up.
The other pattern is warranty timing. A lot of these systems are still inside, or only just outside, their manufacturer's warranty window, and getting a straight answer on what's covered and what isn't can be harder than the repair itself. We'll tell you plainly whether something's worth claiming under warranty, worth a straightforward repair, or worth replacing properly - rather than just replacing on the first callout.
It's also worth saying plainly: a new system isn't a guarantee against early failure. A manufacturing defect or a bad original install can take down a two or three-year-old tank just as easily as a ten-year-old one, so even in a suburb this new, it's worth having a system checked properly rather than assuming age alone rules a fault out. Standard electric storage tanks generally run somewhere around 8 to 12 years in normal conditions - most Coomera systems are nowhere near that yet, which is exactly why an early fault here usually points to something specific rather than simple wear.

Had an issue with our 16 year old toilet leaking from underneath the pan somewhere. Called Blake & he sent Lachlan out the following morning to diagnose & quote. Lachlan gave us 3 options, which was great. We chose the middle one, which included replacing all the internals, so hopefully we should be OK for another 16 years! Absolutely amazing service from the moment I got in touch with them, and in particular Blake. I explained to him my issue and he took the time and effort (completely unprompted) in providing steps of how he would tackle the problem. When it came time to actually have the issue physically looked at, Lachie gave me a call and let me know how far away he was; he arrived promptly and on-time, and was able to very quickly diagnose and provide a solution. I was quoted on the spot and not pressured whatsoever to have more things looked at than I needed to, which I very much appreciated. While I've got my fingers crossed to not have any further short-term issues with my property's plumbing, I'd wholeheartedly recommend these guys and gals to anyone willing to listen. Very happy with the service from Genies Plumbing. We had a leaking kitchen tap and Blake was out in a couple of hours. He sourced a new one, came back later in the day and fitted it. I called Blake to help locate a tricky water leak on our acreage property, he quickly identified multiple leaks on both the council and our side of the line and got them all fixed. He kept us informed every step of the way, and was incredibly responsive and professional, and a genuinely nice person.
